Bus Drivers Needed for the 2026-2027 School Year

School Bus Drivers Wanted -- Join the NPS Transportation Department

A School Bus Driver interacts daily with children and serves as their trusted transportation to and from school. As such, a School Bus Driver should be free of any traffic or legal violations and should have an authoritative, yet calming demeanor and a strong understanding of traffic laws. 

  • Transport students and other passengers to and from school and other routes
  • Ensure the safety of all passengers
  • Perform inspections of the bus before and after each run, maintaining a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
  • Attend safety meetings and trainings as required

Qualifications include meeting all of the state, federal & school district position requirements:

  • Have a Class B (or A) CDL License, with Air Brake, Passenger and School Bus Endorsements 
  • Satisfactory Physical Examination, including drug/alcohol screens - maintain a current DOT physical card
  • Pass a comprehensive background check, including a fingerprint-based criminal history records check and review of previous employment history
  • Be clear of at-fault accidents and traffic citations/No more than 6 accumulated points on driving record
  • Beginning Bus Driver Workshop* - maintain beginning bus driver course or CE card 

*Training may be provided locally for selected applicants who need to meet licensing requirements.

NPS has several vacancies for support staff positions to be filled for the 2026-2027 school year.
